Junior Fit
Junior fit is a slimmer women's cut with a shorter body and narrower shoulders that runs one to two sizes smaller than standard women's or unisex sizing.
Narrower shoulders, a shorter torso, less room through the hip — junior fit borrows its block from a teen customer, not the standard adult women's grade, and usually runs 1-2 sizes smaller than the same labeled size in missy or unisex fit. A junior large often measures closer to a missy medium.
It's the fit behind most fashion tees and fitted event shirts sold at festivals, dance studios, and cheer competitions — brands like Bella+Canvas and LAT Apparel both cut this style a full size band tighter than their unisex lines. We size a junior fit order up by one full size as a default whenever the buyer hasn't already fitted a sample, because "these came in tiny" is the single most common complaint we get on these bulk runs.
When quoting junior fit for a group order, ask about ages and body types before locking sizes, and steer toward missy fit instead if the group skews adult or mixed-age — this block is built for a teen customer base and doesn't flatter or fit the same range of adult bodies. If junior fit is still the right call, order XL and 2XL heavier than the standard size curve suggests.
The common mistake is ordering by the same size numbers used for unisex tees, assuming a medium is a medium across styles — on this block, that medium is cut for a considerably smaller frame, and the reorder to fix it costs more than sampling would have.
